There are many people who have inspired me in my life, too many to share in only one page so I am restricted to a chosen few. I will vary it once a month so please drop in and check who is featured. Who knows, it may be you!

My mother and my father raised ten of us, taking us from a one roomed tenement flat with no hot water and a shared outside toilet to an 18 roomed Georgian mansion with 3 bathrooms and an endless garden! They did it by sheer hard work and absolute determination to give their children a good start in life.

They had good hearts and there was always room for one more at our crowded table. My father would regularly send tramps along to our kitchen where mum would make them sandwiches and tea. One even stayed in our basement bedroom for three years because he had nowhere else to go. Someday I will write a book called “The Tramp in our basement”.

Our house was always filled with noise and laughter, sometimes squabbling sibling battles, but it was always filled with love. So many friends commented on how they wished they could live with us too.

There is so much more to say about them, but space is limited. Ten out of the ten of us are married to our original partners so something must have inspired us. Perhaps it is a marriage that has lasted 55 years, ten children and many ups and downs in fortune. My parents continuing love and respect for one another is a miraculous gift to all of us.

Eileen (Turtle) Parzek designed this beautiful website for me. She is my inspiration for many reasons. She has an indomitable nature; like the turtle, she slips into that protective shell during life’s storms but keeps popping her head out, held high, to take on the challenges of life. She inspires me because she lost everything she had built so successfully in the dot.com crash, took a real beating financially and emotionally, but after a spell in that shell, she created a new life for herself. She inspires me because she combines a richness of technical knowledge with true artistry and communication skills that make the complex seem simple to the non-technical mind.
